So far, this is one of my favorite things to do when I got nothing to do. Quite ironic, right? But I’ll share my binge watching essentials. 😊
Binge Watching Essentials
This generation’s hobbies includes getting into arts and crafts, doing activities that are good for life and the newest one, binge watching! But, first thing’s first. What is really binge watching?
[AdSense-C]
What is binge watching?
It is the act of watching a certain series without stopping. Well, maybe just a few pauses when you need to pee. Another look to it would be, saving episodes of an on-going series just to watch it during a holiday or a break. In short, it could be known as marathon watching.
How do you binge watch?
It’s simple, really. Here are some ways on doing it:
- Downloading the whole season after its season finale. It may also be applicable to films (e.g. Harry Potter, Star Trek, Star Wars)
- Downloading every episode during its air date but you’ll watch it in one day (either holiday or break).
- Waiting for the whole season to be up on a streaming site/app.
So to share my binge watch essentials, I’ve listed down some items that may also be essential to your binge watching!
My Binge Watching Essentials
A device/gadget
You need a thing where you could watch the episodes. It may be in the form of a tablet, phone or even a laptop. I use my laptop and my tablet for my series. Most of the time, I watch using my laptop because I download the episodes especially if it’s an on-going series.
Snacks and Drinks
Who doesn’t love snacks and drinks while watching? Most of the time, I lounge around when I watch so I want it to be one of the most comfortable. My fave snacks would include chocolates, chips and sometimes, kimbap! My fave drinks while watching would be hot/iced chocolate, orange/mango juice or just simply water.
For the kimbap, I am such a picky eater so I only eat the ones made by my friend, Hannah. It’s somewhat made to order so we book a Grab (express) if it’s delivery time. Hers are homemade so the flavor is really savory and yummy!
Episodes
Since I download apps from on-going series, I search the internet for torrents. It may be for film or movies. Of course, there’s Pirate Bay and then EZTV. But to download the files, I use uTorrent.
But, if it can’t be downloaded or there’s no smaller file with high quality, I resort to streaming.
Streaming Films/Episodes
When the episodes are not yet ready for download, I stream. I search for sites which have the latest episodes. For Asian drama, it’s quite challenging to look so when I saw iFlix, I was glorious about it! What made me love it more is that you can enjoy 30 days for free! You’ll only need a Facebook account for you to enjoy their service.
What made me love it more is that you can enjoy 30 days for free! You’ll only need to register or sign up on their site to avail of their service. Not only that but also of what they have! They have a variety of genre of films and series to choose from. Since I have been lazy to download films, I just stream through their app.
What aboutย iFlix?
- You can access up to five (5) devices at once. Whether you’re on your mobile or sharing it on the laptop and tablet, you can stream all at once!
- If you’re in a hurry and do not have enough time to buffer, you can always download the episode. Before download starts, you’ll be asked if which quality would you like.
- Sharing is caring because, with iFlix, you can share your subscription with family or friends and watch on two devices at a time.
- 30 days free when you sign up with them. If your 30 days are over then, you can pay for the subscription for only a low price. I guess it’s Php 129/month. (USD 1 = Php 50, roughly)
My iFlix Experience
Since it is so hard to look for copies of local indie films, I was only able to watch some because someone gave me a copy and it was years after the original year of the film. From foreign series like Arrow, The Flash, Grimm and Mr. Robot to films like Titanic and even iconic series like FRIENDSย and HIMYM, it’s there! What makes me love them more is that they have local shows from two of the biggest networks in the Philippines! They have those Kapamilya shows and Kapuso shows that have long ended. Not only to local tv series but to local films as well. Let’s not forget about Philippine independent films as well! Some are there on iFlix.
Currently, Encantadia 2016 is being aired on iFlix too. It’s just that it will be up 24 hours after the air date. So, even if you’re late for one day, as long as you can watch it in high quality then it’s a go for me! Oh and even the Encantadia 2005 is there also.

Oooh, good to know iflix streams asian dramas. I’ve always considered getting a subscription, but first, we have to upgrade our internet! Hehe XD
We have the same essentials though lately I wanna add the mermaid tale to my essential list. I wish I could get it soon. iflix and netflix both rocks in my opinion.
It is long since I watched a TV program but I like the ideas you have shared.
iFlix does seem a good option for binge watching. I like how they allow to share the subscription.
Watching a lot of episodes in one go needs a lot of preparation. As a matter of fact, it could be a year-round preparation for the holiday that gives you the time to watch. LOL. Hey, not too much, okay? You might not realize it but you could be eating too many snacks already.
Ah, my very favourite thing to do: Drink coffee and binge watch!
I have never done a movie marathon. I think that is a good thing to do this holiday season. But, oh I remember I have many readings to make still. Haha! Anyway, this is a good suggestion and I would definitely share this with my friends and colleagues who love watching movies. ๐
Too funny, today, all I did was binge watch star wars. Of course, I wanted to refresh myself after Rogue one. I always need chips or potato corner.
Ha…Ha….learnt binge watch ~ new vocabulary from you here.
I was binge watch almost all my weekends since I have subscribed to dimsum.my for its free trial. It’s definitely a relaxing way to destress esp after using our brain juice from Monday to Friday ๐ cheers, SiennyLovesDrawing
Note: dimsum.my is a streaming video tool & currently available in Malaysia
Oh wow! Thank you for this, my dear! As I am on a paid holiday vacation until next year, I think binge watching will be one of my past times aside from taking care of my toddler. I’d be binge watching HP! Haha! And thank you for introducing iFlix. My husband has been thinking of what series would he be watching over the holidays, too. I already told him to check iFlix. It’s just so good to know that my favorite series, HIMYM, is also there! <3
So that’s what it meant! hahaha My hubby and I do this, too. ๐ One of our favorites were Merlin and Agents of Shield. Recently, we like watching The Flash. This is our default date since we don’t have a nanny for our kids these days.
It’s been so long since I’ve watched a TV show or any movie at all. I am a big lover of television shows and this does seem like a good option to spend some quality time on to.
I love watching series! I drown myself in them whenever I have the time. I haven’t really tried iflix yet, but it sounds interesting. I just might try them the next time I feel like binge watching!
I was about to have my iFlix thing, since I’m a big fan of watching movies, hopefully soon. Anyway, we have the same comfortable list though, I’m so fine with having a snacks and a coffee with me. I’ll surely have my binge watching essentials list updated. Thank you so much for sharing!
I’d rewatch all seasons of Grey’s Anatomy again & again. But I don’t think I’ll find time to do that!!
I am binge watching expert! My first binge was Lost (all seasons in three weeks) about 7 years ago. Back then I used to stream on Megaupload and then I moved on to EZTV and Utorrent. Haven’t tried iflix yet but hey, you never know. I might do that soon. But I prefer torrent downloading though, I’m just used to it. I like each crunchy things when binge watching and lots of coffee. ๐
I binge watch to relax. I have several series I follow. I’m currently subscribed to iFlix and it’s been great. I finally got to watch Scandal which turned out to be a great show. Currently watching Once Upon a Time. The selection is much better now than when they first launched.
Being a young professional gives me less me time, much less binge watching. Thankfully, advancements in technology has allowed me to watch even while on the go which I do very often. Iflix is good since it offers a variety of shows at a reasonable price. In my opinion though, I prefer to use Netflix due to its wider selection of shows and it offers better quality videos ( up to 4k resolution vs 480p on iFlix) but then again it costs more as well, so it pretty much depends on the person’s wallet
I binge watch allllll the time. It’s unhealthy! Hahaha ๐ and I also love iflix, I’m actually on my first month trial atm. Right now I’m binge watching The Big Bang Theory ๐
30 days for free is a great deal! 30 days of free binge watching haha. When I start watching something, I confess it sometimes is difficult to stop. I just wish there were more hours in the day ๐
I love binge watching! I just binge watched all of The Good Place and then binge watched it again! I agree that snacks are important for a binge watch. I prefer chocolate too, but I’ve never tried kimbap!
The two shows I recently binge watch were HTGAWM and Breaking Bad. A few years back I would binge watch on Grey’s Anatomy and CSI. Times have changed for me recently so I don’t really have time for binge watching anymore. When I used to binge watch, however, I would not want to have any snacks so as for me to not mindlessly consume calories while watching. But when I do, I prefer a nice tub of Stik-O (choco wafer sticks) or an old-school pack of Cheez-It. Haha! Thanks for sharing.
