Time management is deemed to be an easy task. However, some find it quite challenging. Here are some tips on time management.
Tips on Time Management
Some have a hard time in managing time. People get lost on how will they track their progress in terms of accomplishing their pending tasks. I, myself, still get lost no matter how hard I try to keep track about my schedules. Handling work and school can be quite hard but as long as you know how to balance everything, it will come through.
A while back, a friend of mine shared to me an app that would let you clock in and clock out when studying. Generally speaking, it’s a focus timer app that is very helpful! So here, in this part of the blog, I’ll share some tips on how to manage your time wisely.
#1 Use a focus timer app (e.g. Tide)
Personally speaking, this is a great app for me. Not only that it allows me to focus my attention for a while but it also lets me take breaks in between. It may not be that popular enough but taking breaks is quite essential to our bodies.
Some may think that taking breaks would lead to unproductivity. It’s a possibility but it’s also a good thing. Our bodies need to recharge from all the things we do. From doing household chores, work and even studying. Our bodies need to regenerate lost tissues and cells therefore we need at least eight (8) hours of sleep per day. That’s already 1/3 of a day.
This app has helped me with school, honestly. You may think that this maybe a sponsored post but it’s not. I’m truly and honestly recommending this since you can adjust the focus time you need and also how often will be your breaks.
For law students out there, this is a great app for you!
#2 Use an unruled planner

It’s great to have a planner but I personally prefer a blank one like this. I really don’t like having lines dictate how I’d express my scribbles or anything that I want to write. I’ve always believed that writing freely is such a great thing to do!
I got my own The Early Bird Planner from Fully Booked for Php 175 which is roughly $ 3.41. Not bad right? But little as I know that other designs were being sold for Php 145 ($ 2.82). Somehow, I felt bad about my Php 175 purchase.
But anyway, having your own blank calendar allows you to plot your own schedule without any restrictions. You may even use this as a weekly planner. Mine’s a monthly planner since I used it both for work and school. It has been helping me a lot in tracking my homeworks or pending tasks.
#3 Refrain from being impulsive
There will be those times that friends will ask you out, on a school night! It’s a tough decision to make. However, a little catch-up won’t be a harm especially if you know your limits.
Night outs is also beneficial to you. You can recharge yourself when you’re with your friends or even gain bits of information from them when you’re conversing. Yet, remember to limit these as well. It’s always your choice whether or not you’ll come.
From personal experience, it was easier to go out back in college than post-grad. Sometimes, you’d just be tired from all the work you do and just think that you still have to study. Now, I’d usually limit my night outs to just chill nights. I’d rather have a friend or two with me and just stay at my place and just bond. Either of us would buy the drinks and it’s much easier to talk to each other than inside a bar. You won’t be even shouting at each other!
Refusing isn’t bad as well as long as you did it politely. Remember that you have to prioritize things as well.
#4 Use a noise-cancelling headphones while studying or working
It’s true that music allows every one of us to focus and accomplish every task we need to do before the day ends. However, there are times that there are unwanted noise that just distracts us from doing those. So, another tip that I’ll share is to own the best noise-canceling headphones out there.
Not only that this will aid you more to focus but it will also allow you to finish every pending task promptly.

Honestly these are some great tips! I definitely need to refrain from being impulsive for sure. An app and planner sound so useful, too!
All 3 are useful for me. I will check out the Tide app as I’ve been needing something to help me balance my time and focus on the task at hand. An unruled planner is a great idea especially for creative people. I guess I need a little structure so I’m fine with the normal planners out there.
I have a real problem when it comes to time management since then. I remember when I was still in college, I really have a challenge in managing my time since I was working while studying that time. Anyway, I love how concise these tips you’ve written here, very useful and helpful as well. I also recently learned how to refrain from being impulsive, I have a lot of friends, but previously whenever I received invites from them, I have enough courage to decline. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
