So happy that FAM gets a season two! As the art world is getting more appreciation from the world, here I am, still sharing artists that are now FAM! This month’s artist is an artist close to me. His name is Sam. Are you ready to get to know him?
FAM: Now on its 2nd season!
On this day last year, I started this blog series. It originally was to feature local artists that the world needs to know. I believe in their talents and their skills. The series aims to inspire enthusiasts and fellow artists to continue doing art and pass on their passion.
I never thought that the series itself would survive. It may sound not very optimistic,, but that’s the truth. People who read the previous posts have shared their thoughts and feelings about the featured artist. Both the featured artists and I feel grateful for all of you.
So, this series continues to live on every month to inspire more and ignite everyone not to turn their backs on art itself.
Without further ado, let’s meet the first featured artist for the second season!
Featured Artist for the Month: Sam Manalo
The first featured artist for the second season is someone close to me. He has been in my life and my journey in getting to know art, particularly calligraphy. Life would have been a lot different if he was not around. Without further ado, meet Stephen Manalo. He is August’s featured artist!
This time last year, I featured a friend whose birthday is also this August. Same with Sam; his name day is this August as well.

So good to know Stephen Manalo. How do you find out such amazing talented people. His childhood passion nurtured so well has yielded such good results.
Taking work and hobby as fun enhances the talent.
I just saw his Instagram work and it is mind blowing.
OMG! You are so talented Sam! Don’t worry, a lot of artists work based on their moods but do channel your mood into your art— it will be amazing! Keep up the good work.
For some reason, I can’t view some of the photos. But from the ones that I’ve seen, I can tell that Sam is quite a talented artist. And it’s so interesting that one of his top 3 tools is coffee! Wow! That’s not an easy tool to manipulate! He says that his artworks depend on his mood, and that shows that he is a true artist. Creative people derive inspiration from whatever they are feeling at the moment, and that lets them produce honest and genuine work.
It is always a surprise to see such talented artists through your blog. His artworks are really amazing. As he mentioned, yes such artworks help to relax and control emotions.I wish him all the success as an creative artist!
Congratulations on FAM’s second season! Also, I would like to congratulate Sam for his amazing and beautiful artwork.
Your blog and all the artists you feature are very inspiring. I am thankful that you are generous to share your talent with everyone.
Wishing you all the best and success. I look forward to more featured artists in your blog.
At first I was expecting it to be a calligrapher. Seeing a different art aside from calligraphy is something that is interesting. Sam has awesome talent. I hope hubby tried his skills in drawing more. He has skill but he didn’t hone it. If only I have this talent in drawing, I would do the same way what Sam was doing. Sad I didn’t had.
Sam is pretty impressive. I wish I could draw like that – but alas! He claims he’s a newbie – but I hope he continues to pursue his passion and his art, and I hope in time he’ll make a solid living from it. Being able to do the thing you love as you job is amazing.
I think mood really contributes a lot to the outcome and the intent of the piece of art one is working on. Those were beautiful and i can feel how each drawing were hand crafted by heart. My son loves those kinds of drawing. In fact he asked me to buy him a book which illustrates how to draw different figures like animals, and more. Its like sketching from the start until you came up with those similar portraits. The book was kinda expensive but for a 9 year old like my son who is very eager to learn about this craft, im all out support! Someday i hope he’ll make us proud just like Sam here 🙂
I am curious; why does he pick animals and birds as his subject line? I guess his answer will be- I really do not have any idea. Regarding he getting relaxed by indulging in works of art, I agree. It calms one’s sense down. The pent up emotion vents out in strokes and colours. Hope you are always happy Stephen. Best of luck.
I wish I have a talent like him.. i used to draw comics when I was in high school but that’s all about it haha.. I love his style and it seems like he has this huge fascination with animals… (gosh I can barely draw a cat properly). I love this portion of your blog… featuring them and their talents here will motivate them even more as they were being recognized.. Thank you for featuring another great artist!
Wow, those are really beautiful illustrations! He sure is a very talented artist! I used to love drawing when I was a small girl but I can only wish I know how to draw properly. I guess it is a talent and some people are really born with it. Maybe I should just give doodling a try, since it seems a lot easier than drawing! 🙂
