Blogging has become an immensely popular notion across the world today. A vast majority of the bloggers are people who love to share their ideas and thoughts with the world outside. For people who love to live the stories that they write, blogging is the best job to go for!
From writing a travel blog to curating your escape room blog, there are several avenues for you to venture in. However, before working as a full-time professional blogger, make sure to keep in mind the following 11 tips.
Define your target audience and know them well
The first step to growing your blog is to define whom your blog caters to in general. Defining your target audience will help you align your marketing and promotion strategies accordingly, thus getting the maximum output.
There are several website analytics tools available these days that can help you identify your target audience. You can use any such tool to get a proper analysis of your audience and what they look for on the web.
Research and find out the right SEO keywords
Your viewers on the web would be searching for relevant articles with the help of keywords. Therefore, using proper SEO-based keywords is essential to bring organic traffic to your blog. However, do not randomly irrelevant stuff keywords in your content, for that will break the flow.
Make sure that the keywords you use are not concentrated in one area but are evenly spread throughout your content. The use of keywords properly and effectively will help you in creating good quality content.
Let your content leave an impact!
Only creating and posting content on your blog will not suffice. It is further important for you to ensure that it leaves behind a deep impact on the minds of your viewers. The creation of impactful content can immensely facilitate your blog’s reach and spread.
Traffic on the web is bound to significantly improve when you start creating impactful content. Thus, your content should not be just about blabbering anything and everything. Instead, make sure that your content answers the headline efficiently.
Start writing guest post articles
Working on guest post articles can help you to spread awareness about your blog amongst many people. By the creation of backlinks via guest posting, you can seamlessly boost the traffic to your website.
Find the relevant companies for which you can create content and approach them for guest post articles. In this way, more and more people will get to know about your blog, and thus, you can build your audience base accordingly.
Start offering services through your blog
Even though selling certain services by using your blog will not make you rich suddenly, it can be a great way to earn some money and a reputation. When you start selling your services online through your blog, people will start to know you as a blogger. Thus, you can then grow your name in this way!
Become an authority in your field
Increasing your exposure in the online mode will help you gain the trust of your audience over time. For this, you can even use Quora and gradually assert your authority in the industry.
Start by picking the areas/topics where you have the most knowledge, and answer whatever question is posted by users in that field. Ensure that your answers sound confident and diligent to viewers. Becoming an authority in your field will help you gain respect and recognition over time.
Use advertisements to spread the word!
Advertisements using paid promotions and social media ads can be a helpful way to increase the traffic to your blog. However, before opting for paid ads to promote and enhance the reach of your blog, start by defining the budget that you are ready to spend.
Following this, you can accordingly plan the amount of money you can spend on advertisements. By using ads like this, you can increase the number of viewers on your blog and hence promote it effectively!
Kindle and nurture your relationship with your audience
To promote and hold on to your audience, it is important to actively engage in discussions with them. While there are several ways to do this, the common ones are indulging in Facebook group discussions or answering the questions pouring in your Instagram direct.
By doing this, not only will you be able to know your audience better but you will also know how your audience perceives your website. Thus, to drive more traffic to your blog, it is vital that you actively engage with your audience and build a community with them.
Get good quality backlinks to your blog
Judiciously using backlinks can help you drive organic traffic to your blog with ease. To acquire the top position in the Google search results, it is important for you to exercise power and authority in your industry.
By acquiring more backlinks, you can spread the name of your blog far and wide. It further increases the credibility and weightage of your blog on the web!
Let your content be shared with the world
As a blogger, you must create content that is not just read by people but is also shared by them. To create shareable content easily, make sure that your content is easy to read and understand.
Craft your content by keeping in mind your target audience. Creating a catchy title can also be a great way to create good quality content which is easily shared by many.
Work on creating content regularly
To gain success as a blogger, you must create content regularly. The length of your content doesn’t matter much if you continue posting blogs frequently. By doing this, your audience will get the idea that you are serious about your blog and would thus visit your blog often.
It is only by posting content regularly that both Google and your viewers start to take your blog seriously. Bloggers who fail to do this often end up losing their viewers significantly.
So, now begins your work as a blogger. Keep these factors in mind while you start creating attractive and informative content for your viewers today! But, most of all, ensure that you have fun doing what you do!

Great article Charlotte. I agree with you about engaging and interacting with the audience either in person or on social or somewhere outside of the blog. Frequency is crucial but its also important to write long interesting articles. Hubspot wrote that the ideal blog post length for SEO should be 2,100-2,400 words. That’s a lot longer than the up to 500-word blog posts most bloggers think are sufficient. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Charlotte,
First of all, excellent tips.
I think another important tip for beginners is to engage with other bloggers. Building relationships and connecting with others in your niche can be a great way to grow your audience and get your name out there.
