Black Hair

Black hair? Don’t care!

  1. It doesn’t really grow

According to experts at the Best Salon NYC, this is one of the funniest false facts about natural black hair. Why wouldn’t it grow? Yes, it’s a true fact that it is more difficult to notice changes in the length of black hair due to its texture. If your locks seem to have stopped growing, then maybe you should revise your hair care regimen and abstain from chemicals or heat styling.

  1. It needs rough treatment

Rough treatment is a huge mistake owners of natural black hair should strongly avoid. It happens because this hair type visually looks very strong and thick. In the reality, it’s extremely fragile and thin, thus requiring gentle care and patience. Make sure you treat your locks with the right tools and natural ingredients to enhance its unbelievable beauty!

LOL… I can’t believe that… hahaha whoever spread those kind of lies are so dumb but whoever had believed those lies are also just so super gullible….however I am guilty of not being able to appreciate my own natural black hair and have continued experimenting with colours until it is quite damaged…

That is absurd. Funny and ridiculous how they spread those lies. I have a naturally black hair. During my younger years it was very long. Now i cut it short and so far everything is normal with my hair! I dyed it and i love it!

I find black hair so elegant. If i have a choice, i would opt for a long shiny black hair. It doesnt suits me though as I am small in height.

I’m grinning at all the widespread lies. lol. I have a natural black hair (me and my sisters do) and our hairs definitely grow! I never had my hair colored until last June. I’m not sure though if I’d want it colored again. I think I’m ok with the natural color.

I’m a little confused. From the title and the image it sounds like you mean black hair as in the color black, as in straight thick dark hair. From the text it sounds like you mean black hair as like the hair that black people have. Your article gives very good points about black hair ( if you mean curly, big, afro-y) but the image gives another idea. I am hairdresser and I personally love black hair (from black people) you can do anything with their hair really; it’s so versatile!

Lol!! The funniest myth for me was number 3. I have natural black hair and I can attest that it’s growing normally. Haha! As with the treatment thing, i guess it’s not the color but the texture maybe? Mine’s black but straight, so i guess there’s no problem with maintenance. That would then break the first myth. Haha!

Too funny! I am Asian with a natural black hair. Haven’t had a haircut for two years so from a very short hair, it has now reached my waist. Planning to donate it this month and explore on a new hair cut.

Ooooh, I’ve never heard of any of these lies so I don’t think they’re widespread enough? Maybe these are old old myths back when there aren’t so many hair treatments available and hair stylists are rare. Nowadays you can do magic with any type of hair. 😀

This is my first time hearing about this lies. But, those were really ridiculous. I think people who came up with these intend to discriminate Asians since Asians have black hair. Anyway, I have black hair too and my hair is growing just fine 🙂 I hope those who think this way get to read your blog.

I heard that black hair is naturally stronger. Because it’s usually thicker. If I had black hair, I would be so happy. I think it’s mysterious.

Oh! I didn’t knew there were these rumors about natural black hair. I have mega black thick hair… it’s not that hard to maintain but it needs treatments and such like any other hair types to keep it healthy. The thing about black hair not really growing is such a funny and weird thought.

Natural black hair is so beautiful! I didn’t know there were so many wrong ideas about it! I don’t have black hair, so I wouldn’t know it. (well I had it black, but that was paint). But I love that you are clearing it up. So stupid that these rumors exist!

It’s my first time hearing these lies about black hair maybe because I’m an Asian. I used to envy brunettes when I’m young but I love my black hair now because it’s thick and strong. I have a natural black hair and I can confirm that all these 4 lies are just lies.

I laughed when i get to pointer 3. how can hair doesn’t really grow? but i think i would kind of agree with pointer 1 because black hair (asian hair) tends to be thicker and stronger, hence more ‘stubborn’. or at least, my hair is extremely stubborn and require a lot more TLC to get it to ‘listen’.
