Places The TOP Diaries

The Office Project PH

As I  went on my cyber-journey through Metro Manila looking for a perfect place to chill / work / study, I only need to ask my very good type sister, Yen who works in The Office Project! It is a coworking space located in the heart of Makati Central Business District catering to students, freelancers and creative people looking for a place to do all their stuff.

The Office Project PH

Reception Area

In the search for finding a place where I can both work and study, I have searched for places in Ortigas, Makati and even in Quezon City but all those did not have what I was looking for. Little did I know that it was meant to be for me to meet Yen from Type Kita. She was the one responsible for this. She introduced me to her workplace which is The Office Project!

Located at my heart, rather at the heart of the Makati Central Business District (or Makati CBD for most) lies a place where you can work, study, and co-work with people. I used to jump from one café to another just to look for the perfect spot for me to spread my so-called clutter.

When it comes to working, people would always think of an office which strict dress code / cubicle / a desk complete with piles that would just consume you during the day. Stress can never be inevitable yet working in a place that will make you feel less stress will really help! A nice workplace or study place will help you be productive and inspired.

Getting to look at wonderful plants and artworks with natural lighting really helps ease the tension and the intellectual stress you might be feeling towards work. For a person like me, it’s important for me to have a place that really is conducive for working. Being on a path filled with logic and creativity, inspiration is tough to find. In a crowded place, one tends to observe the people around, think what are they thinking and trying to experience what are they experiencing instead of just focusing on doing what needs to be done on their part.

The Ampersand

Meeting Room

Featured above is their meeting room. There chairs which are ergonomically designed to support the posture and the arms of the users. The tables were intricately designed to suit the creative and formal vibe of the space. There are things you may utilize like the whiteboard which can be transferred from  one place to another (which happens during a workshop or a smaller meeting). A projector may also be used alongside the screen and the mounted board. There are extension wires inside the table with ample slots to lessen the mess that the cords will be creating.

What I like most about this particular space is that the flooring has turf on it which makes me feel more comfortable working. Whenever my feet feel tired, I could just remove my footwear for a moment or two and just step on the floor and imagine that I’m in a grassland or a prarie just wandering around. The doors to the meeting area resemble to the doors of Barry Allen’s laboratory at the police station (referring to The Flash 2014) which makes my nerd side quite alive!

Co-working Etiquette

In every place, there will always be proper etiquette that should be followed. Remember, you will be co-working with others and respecting their space is one of the most important! General rule there is it is CLAYGO which stands for “Clean As You Go”. I came across this term back in college and even if I graduated already, I still practice it and even do it even if we are eating outside. Or at least I make it to a point that the cleaners won’t have a hard time cleaning since they have to cover the whole place and it will still depend on the number of plates there.

With the restroom or comfort room for some, it is very very nice! I have not seen anything like in my whole life! I’ve been living on this world for 22 years now and no restroom has ever surpassed this (well according to my opinion, of course). What restroom has beautiful decorations? The photo does not show the entire restroom since it’s a teaser and you have to see it for yourself as well. It has a sink, mirror, hand dryer, toilet paper, toilet, trash bin, mop, bidet and the lovely decorations!

Flat lay by The Sab Stuff

From working to studying to having creative works, you can do it at The Office Project or to most, TOP. If you are into calligraphy and need a place to do a workshop, you can do it with them! If you are looking for a place to read or just be alone or just want to chill, you can at TOP!

The Clutter

You have seen Sab’s stuff and now, time to see mine:

Mess at the meeting room

As you have read, I really love their meeting room! It really makes me feel like I’m an executive that works and chills at the same time. My clutter is well spread and my stuff are pretty much occupying 1/3 of the first half of the table. From notes to books to calligraphy stuff, you can work on it at TOP! It’s the best place to be!

The style and decoration is great, that’s the type I like. I also like the “Claygo”. I never heard of it. Even though for me it’s obvious to clean my own mess and leave the place we are, we work, and where we spend loads of our time, clean, for some others it’s not so obvious. In my last job, some of us had our own stuff, and everything that would be left on the tables, cup of coffee or stuf, everything went to the trash. Vertical cleaning we called it. And when there were no dishes left anymore, well they understood Haha

This seems to be an interesting concept. We do have a few of spaces where you can rent to co-work here in the UK, but I haven’t found the perfect one yet. I am glad you found such a nice place, because the environment does half of the job 🙂

Great project , stunning photos . My favourite are the restrooms ! How nice and ‘welcoming’ decorated , most places and people treat restrooms like ‘step-children , although it is one of the most important rooms in every venue !

OH. MY. GOODNESS. This idea is amazing! I didn’t know there was a place like this in the country! I agree, it’s hard to find peace and quiet when working in public, crowded spaces, and I can immediately tell they are always fully booked. I, for one, would be here all the time if I weren’t out of town!

This is such a lovely co-working space! I don’t mind going there just to write on my blog or space out. Oh I just learnt a new term CLAYGO, thank you! Definitely good etiquette to clean as you go 🙂
