Blogging Prompts #1

Feeling lost about what to blog next? Here are some prompts that may guide you on what to write or blog about next. Share these prompts to you!

Blogging Ideas or Prompts for Your Blog

At some point of our lives, we feel lost on what to blog or write about. Personally, I felt a bit lazy on what to share or write about because, life happened. There was a point in my life that I had nothing to share. But then again, I thought, maybe it’s just me enjoying those moments without thinking what photos to use or even other materials to include.

If you have been following me on Pinterest, I’ve got a board entirely for blogging. It includes pins that inspire me or ignite me. Honestly, it is a great platform to share your content and to learn new things about design, calligraphy and even blogging itself!

So, why create something like this?

A blog post like this has been around and posted by other bloggers. The ideas I may share here may be posted or shared already by another blogger. Nevertheless, I just want to share some things that have always been inspiring me to write.

As a creative individual, we have those struggles. Most of the time, it would challenge us or even take over our creativity and just let us wonder what to do next. Some get stuck at the point and never get out. In the end, they would just give up without fighting it off.

Personally, I do not want that to happen to you. I want you to strive and fight the monsters within. It’s somehow related to mental health and all of us must be concerned about our own mental health as well. If we are not mentally healthy, we cannot perform well in any job that we try to accomplish.

Without further ado, here’s the list of the first batch of blogging prompts.

#1 Tell something about yourself

Most of your followers would want to know you on a personal level. I, myself, would want that because we are all normal beings behind this blog. It’s fun to get to know someone by knowing a little part of themselves.

Bonus: There’ll be always something common between you and your followers. Those will bring you closer to each other.

Isn’t it fun?

#2 What are some things you do?

Remember to ask yourself, do you have a hobby or work that you would like to share?

Well, there are those kinds of work or hobbies that can be easily understood by just looking at it. While some may have a hard time learning what you are doing, sharing something or maybe a story would bridge that gap.

You may also give tips or maybe what you’ve experienced while doing that work or hobby.

Not only that you’re educating your readers and followers but also, you’re sharing something that would connect you on a more personal level.

#3 Pet Peeves

Are there some things you hate or piss you off?

Mine’s seeing people use “stuffs” instead of “stuff” or even “equipments” instead of “equipment.” Call me a grammar nazi but I just want to raise awareness about using proper grammar. It’s for your own good! But know this, I correct the people I am friends with or the ones who have their facts confused. I make sure as well that when I correct them it’s polite and backed up with facts or research or even reference persons.

#4 Share about someone you admire or look up to

This person may also be the someone who has inspired you to push your dreams or goals. He or she maybe someone most of us know or someone within your family.

For me, it’s nice to read something that inspires you.

Why?

  • In one way or another, reading your story or blog post will also inspire others in various ways. Some may even write their own version too or just admire the person that you admire also.
  • It gives another person an idea of what to write the next time or even for another kind of content. May it be video or photo, everyone will surely think of something when inspired. Right?

#5 First place you travelled to

This may be of a wide scope since I did not mention if it’s domestic or international travel. Some bloggers whose niche is travel may not consider this since all their blog’s content is travel. Yet, this could be a point where you could tell why you started a life of travel.

My first out of the country trip was when I was in third (3rd) year high school. It was in Hong Kong. I could even still remember the time when we went to Hong Kong Disneyland. The child in me would always scream and thump whenever I reminisce to that moment.

These photos are taken when we were in our province, Albay. It’s here in the Philippines. You can find the majestic Mayon Volcano there.

I personally might continue this as a blog series to help share ideas to fellow writers or bloggers out there. You may have seen these already but I’ve actually gotten a list where I enumerated everything. I’ll be grouping prompts by five (5) so it wouldn’t be quite tedious to read.

If in case you got the idea from this list, I would love to read it so feel free to tweet me or contact me whenever possible.

These are excellent pieces of advice! I also find myself thinking about what to blog from time to time. My blogger friends also have the same issue. I will share this post with them because it’s great!

Hihi. Often, I would ask myself what to write. Then something will always come up and I just write about it. For example, I read to my boy and remember a similar incident.. I would then start with the story we read than relate it somehow sa recent happening in the small house. Yours are nice tips, too. Will share this with my friends as they may get a pointer or two.

This post is just what I needed right now. Since I recently wrapped up a project, I have nothing to do any more, however, have nothing to write too. Or at least that’s what I thought because I have all the time in the world now. I offten catch myself asking , do I really want to continue this? And these suggestions are helpful!

These are excellent ideas for a blog post. There are times I don’t know what to write….
Today I was confused with the word ‘Stuff’…In my latest blog post I wrote about baby stuff, but MsWord suggested ‘Stuffs’ in many places until I was confused. But,I used ‘Stuff’ finally. Now I am reading your post and about ‘Pet Peeves’. Suddenly saw the word ‘stuff’. Anyway, now I know I used it correctly in my blog post. πŸ™‚

These are some great idea for people who are stuck and don’t know what to write about. I am on the other side of the boat, I have too many ideas and too many assignments but such less time, haha. I wish I could write the entire day but I have a job to do as well so I only have time for blogging in the evenings. I agree though, sharing personal things is always a great blogging topic and you can find so many ideas just starting from there.

I started with a beauty niche on my blog. But then I became a mom and also started venturing into food. Now, my blog is all around. Lifestyle in short. Those are great topics too.

When I was starting, I would always be stuck with what to blog next. But when I decided to have travel as my niche since it is also the thing that I’ve always been passionate about, the ideas are non-stop. I even have a lot of backlogs waiting. I think that’s one of the best advice I can give with blogging, blog what your heart loves and you’ll never worry what to write next. πŸ™‚

I run a beauty blog so I always have some backlogs that I need to get into. It can get tiring and I feel burned out sometimes. What I’d like to do is take a break from the usual beauty posts and post something personal during weekends. You gave me an idea to blog about my Pet Peeves next weekend! πŸ˜‰

Since we focus on food and travel, we never run out of content to write. We actually still have a backlog left. But I love what you said that it would be nice to connect to one’s followers on a personal level. Thus, I’m taking note of this blog prompts for when need to create content. I think it’s also helpful to have a notebook at hand so when ideas pop, it won’t get lost.

I realized one advantage of having travel as your niche is that you seldom run of things to post or having such “writer’s block”. This is way i admire a personal blog like this because you can manage to connect to your readers in a personal level. I’ll definitely take note of these blogging prompts and hopefully I could apply them in my blog soon. Blog is such an effective tool to express yourself and these topics allow readers to know you much better!
Thanks for sharing these wonderful ideas

I am in that state of mind where I was so bored out of my skull while enduring painful headaches and chills the past few days. I want to write about something personal for now but I can’t find a certain topic to adhere to. This is so perfect! I’m definitely gonna be writing about the first place I travelled to later on to make up for all the tech stuff that’s on my blog lately. πŸ˜€ thank youuuu!
